Barnes wins at Baberton

John Barnes took home the second SFWA silverware of the year with victory in our autumn outing at Baberton Golf Club.

The broadcaster emerged victorious on a day of good scoring as members were joined by guests from event sponsors William Hill.

Barnes edged out Chris Jack after the pair finished tied on 34 Stableford points after 18 holes. A better inward nine of 17, compared to 16 for Chris, saw him land the title.

Third place was also decided on a recount of the scores as John Docherty beat Ronnie Cully to take the last spot on the podium. Both carded rounds of 33 points.

The guest prize was shared between William Hill pair Darren Taylor and Eric Kelly as they finished level in the lead group.

Iain MacFarlane won the prizes for the closest to the pin, for his approach on the Par 3 14th, and his longest drive on the Par 5 16th.
