Kieran Tierney celebrates winning the SFWA Young Player of the Year award

CELTIC'S brilliant full back Kieran Tierney has made it three in a row after being named SFWA Young Player of the Year.

Tierney topped the poll of members in 2015/16 and 2016/17 and he has come out on top again this season after another outstanding campaign.

The 20-year-old defender said: "t’s mad that this is my third one of these

“A lot of people see me as being older than I am. That’s three seasons I’ve been playing regularly for Celtic and that’s a long time. But I still see myself as being young and having a lot to learn.

“It’s been the most intense season yet for me and my body. I’ve played 50-odd games so far – and that’s not easy to do when you are just 20."

Celtic will complete their Premiership campaign this week before setting their sights in the May 19 William Hill Scottish Cup Final when they have the chance of an unprecedented clean sweep for a second consecutive season against Motherwell.
