Ben lands the title on debut

BEN RAMAGE enjoyed a dream debut as he lifted the Ron Scott Cup and was crowned SFWA champion at Kilmacolm Golf Club.

The Paisley Daily Express writer edged out playing partner Matthew Lindsay to take the title with an impressive tally of 35 Stableford points.

The picturesque Kilmacolm layout provided a firm but fair challenge for all of those competing and the occasional shower didn’t dampen the spirits.

Charlie Mann, who was representing Glen’s Vodka, clinched the prize for the sponsors as he also finished on 34 points after a solid round on the Par 69 course.

Andrew Jamieson of William Hill took home the nearest to the pin prize for his effort on the tricky 17th hole, while Chris Jack won the longest drive competition on the 7th.

Our thanks go to the greens and restaurant staff at Kilmacolm GC for their help and hospitality after a thoroughly enjoyable day for members and guests.
