SFWA Awards 2024/25
The SFWA are delighted to announce the shortlists for three of the most prestigious prizes in our game following votes from members in recent weeks.
The Committee have already presented Scott McTominay with the William Hill Men's International Player of the Year prize and Erin Cuthbert with the Women's International Player of the Year award.
The 2024/25 dinner will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow on Sunday, May 18 as the SFWA Player of the Year adds their name to an illustrious roll of honour.
Celtic duo Callum McGregor and Daizen Maeda will look to add individual recognition to the team gongs already collected this term. Simon Murray of Dundee and Hibernian’s Nectarios Triantis are also in the running.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Young Player of the Year shortlist is headed by Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller. David Watson, the reigning holder of the title, is in contention alongside Kilmarnock teammate Bobby Wales. James Wilson of Hearts completes the four-man race.
Former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan will entertain guests alongside Joe Jordan and John Gahagan as members and guests toast another memorable campaign in our game.
And current Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers could land the William Hill Manager of the Year award for the second time. Rodgers is vying with two Premiership counterparts - David Gray and Jimmy Thelin - and Championship winner John McGlynn for the top prize.
